The Citizen Action Network for Accountability (CANA) - Oriental Mindoro is an independent ad hoc body, based in Calapan City, affiliated with Manila-based CANA seeking to provide dialogues that could prevent conflicts and help create prompt action to address issues in the province.

Beginning in 2014 only as a mere triad of volunteers, the organization proved sheer numbers are not enough to uphold an advocacy. With the help of the Citizen Action Network for Accountability (CANA), as well as partner Catholic church social groups and local environmental organizations, CANA Or. Mindoro based much of its core principles on CANA's priority objectives - inspire public involvement in good governance.
Through the help of informaton campaigns, trainings and media engagement, the organization seeks to inspire individuals and groups to promote good governance and act on it through transparency and accountability through understanding on topics such as the local government budget and the intricacies of government procurement.

Aside from this, the group seeks to monitor the commitment of local government units (LGUs) to transparent, accountable and sustainable governance by trying to provide criteria for rating competence to existing laws, as well as creating an online data bank on ordinances and resolutions, budgets, projects, contracts and other fiscal information.

Projects of CANA-Oriental Mindoro involved the usage of a radio program to tackle more in-depth topics on good governance.

At the moment, its current projects are geared towards tackling provincial issues requiring more scrutiny and public involvement. The group also encourages the monitoring of public services such as waste management or disaster planning programs.

The organization seeks to develop its media presence as well as accountability and monitoring tools, as well as the reviewing and examination of the effectievness of existing policies.
CANA - Oriental Mindoro is also affiliated with groups such as the Alliance for Good Governance in Calapan (ALL-GOGO) and the Apostolic Vicariate of Calapan.
